The Egyptian Book of the Dead
Chapter whereby one is not burnt with fire, but drinketh water in the Netherworld.
63.1O Bull of Amenta! let me be borne to thee!
63.2I am that Rudder of Râ, wherewith he conveyeth the Ancient ones.
63.3I am not burnt, I am not consumed.
63.4I am Babai, the eldest son of Osiris, who striketh the eye of every god in Heliopolis.
63.5I am the Heir, the primary power of motion and of rest.
63.6I have made firm my name, and have preserved it that I may have life through it.
63.7Chapter whereby one is not boiled in water.
63.8I am that ready Rudder wherewith Râ conveyeth the Ancient ones, and I raise the effluxes of Osiris to the Tank from flames impassable; a wrecked one, but not to be consumed.
63.9I lie helpless as a dead person, and I arrive at the lair of the Lion who defieth slaughter,... following the road by which I set out.
